My Approach

I like to focus on relationships, even when I’m working with individuals. Many of our triggers, insecurities, frustrations, and struggles emerge within the context of our relationships. We often unconsciously base our current relationships on our past experiences. I help people gain a deeper understanding of how their family experience (especially during early childhood and adolescence) influences them and help them address challenges in romantic, social, professional, and familial relationships today. My approach is solution-focused, drawing on attachment theory and psychoanalysis to help clients understand and navigate their emotional experiences.

Life Transitions

Depending on the approach used by the therapist, a wide range of techniques and strategies can be used. However, almost all types of psychotherapy involve developing a therapeutic relationship, communicating and creating a dialogue, and working to overcome problematic thoughts or behaviors.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, losing hope, or just wanting things to be different?

Your symptoms often play a role in the type of treatment and type of therapist you choose. If your doctor suspects that you are experiencing problems that might require the use of prescription medications in addition to psychotherapy, he or she may refer you to a psychiatrist.

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medications and has specific training in the treatment of psychological and psychiatric conditions.
